People are nervous of the cloud, as it does not really have an identity. What I mean by that is, it does not appear to be a physical computer, a piece of software you have purchased. It is something that you use and pay a monthly fee to use it. 

 

I guess it’s a bit like gas and electricity, you do not see the physical product but you know you are using it as the TV is on and so is the heating! Cloud computing is exactly the same. You need a computer to access the solution (You need a boiler to heat the radiators). You need the Internet to access the solution (You need cables to use electricity). If you think of it like that, then it becomes less daunting.

 

The significant difference is that you have a monthly fee to pay for the solution, you have no initial investment in hardware, and upgrades are included in the monthly fee.

SPAM Prevention Service

Spam is a common problem in most organisations. A lot of solutions require you to purchase a solution and install it on your system. The solution then checks e-mails as they come in.

 

Our solution checks the e-mails before you get them. This is more efficient as you are not downloading messages to then be treated as Spam. This solution can then e-mail everyone a report of the messages that have been blocked. It then gives you the option to deliver the message if it is a genuine message.

 

Hosted Exchange

Microsoft Exchange is a server based e-mail solution. It allows you to have a fully synchronised e-mail solution from the server to your computer. 

 

You can share contacts and calendars and synchronise your mobile devices too. If you send an e-mail from an iPhone for example it will automatically synchronise that to your sent items in Outlook. 

 

This solution has been around for a long time but has always needed you to have a server and the software. We are able to offer a hosted solution in the cloud of this.

 

Secure Online Backup

Backup your data over the internet to a secure area. This can be done hourly, daily, weekly or whenever you like.

 

Set it and forget it which is ideal, and an e-mail to confirm the backup has been successful.

You may have a specific piece of software that requires a Windows server. We can provide you with your own dedicated server and install your application on that. We can then give you remote access to this server so you can run the program as if the 

server was in your own office.

 

Your own server in the cloud gives you the same facilities as owning your own server but with a monthly cost. No more hardware and software upgrades to worry about.

For the cloud to work for you it does mean you are reliant on your broadband connection. A lot of businesses may be reliant on servers and a broadband connection. With having a cloud-based solution it means the internet is the only 

thing you are reliant on. 

 

This is why we now supply our own broadband, which we can directly manage. If the inevitable someone digs up your cable and you lose the internet you can access a cloud solution from anywhere else there is an internet connection, for example Home, 3g broadband dongle. There are ways around losing your broadband to keep you working.
